Determine Your Final Frost Date for Gardening

We are approaching our estimated final frost date in San Antonio, so it is time for me to get the garden ready for spring!

I recently found a GREAT tool for determining the final frost date for your area on DavesGarden.com!  On Dave’s site, you can enter your zip code to get a frost report for your area.  When I enter my zip code, I get the following report:

Each winter, on average, your risk of frost is from November 12 through March 20.Almost certainly, however, you will receive frost from November 29 through February 25.You are almost guaranteed that you will not get frost from April 11 through October 27.Your frost-free growing season is around 237 days.
