Our September Blooms

Well, I have to be honest and tell you I have been a little bitter about the heat here in San Antonio lately.  I don’t mind the heat in the summer to an extent.  In fact, I think I have learned to tolerate temps in the 90s with ease.  However, this has been a LONG summer.  This past Sunday, September 25th, our high was still 100 degrees!  Oy.  First, I called my mother in VA and she was out picking up her mums for the year.  JEALOUS!  Then I was meandering around the blog-o-sphere and many of my bloggy friends are posting about mums, having their windows open to let cool breezes in, and the smell of fall outside.  JEALOUS!

After stewing about the heat for a few hours, I decided to venture out into the crazy heat and the “jealous” flowed right out of me.  Yes… it may be HOT… but (outside the hottest few hours of the day) we have a wonderful garden to enjoy, mums or no mums.  Apparently, I need to visit my garden a little more often for that reminder and when it is scorching hot outside, I will just light a fall scented candle and look at these pictures… ha ha!
